Maharashtra Teacher who does not have a TET pass

Though the 'Teacher Eligibility Test' (TET) has not been compulsory, the state government on Monday issued an order to immediately remove more than 1,200 'ineligible' teachers from schools across the state in the last five years. As a result, despite the passing of the 'TET', the burden of disqualifying teachers' salaries on the salaries of almost 70,000 teachers sitting at home without a job will be averted.

The order was issued by Swapnil Kapadnis, Under Secretary, School Education Department, through a 'reminder' sent to the Director of Primary Education. Accordingly, non-TET teachers have been asked to submit an immediate report to the government by taking action in accordance with the GR Decision (GR) Act of 24 August 2018.

‘The state government has issued a fresh order after the Lokmat on November 20 released that the state government was stepping in to remove the ineligible teachers from the job, even though the central government has reversed the five-month deadline for the extension of TET qualification by September.

Under the Right to Education (RTE) 'TET' is a mandatory requirement for the appointment of primary teachers. Despite this compulsion, unqualified teachers have been appointed in the state since 2013.

Not only that, but the concerned education officials also approved such recruiters. In fact, despite the amendments made by the Central Government in 2017, the deadline for passing the 'TET' exam was to end by March 31 this year. With this in mind, the state government on August 24, 2018, concluded that the services of non-TE teachers would be terminated during this period. He also promised that the High Court would take action against the officials who approved illegal recruitment.

However, on May 6, the state government requested an extension to the Center. Not only that, but GR was also immediately dismissed from the service till the decision was made that teachers who were not 'TET' should be removed from the service and their salaries should not be stopped.

The central government on June 3 rejected the deadline. Nevertheless, the GR was not abolished by the state government on May 7.

Summary:
The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII. The examination is mandatory for teaching careers in Indian administration organizations. There are two papers: Paper- 1, for teachers of Classes I-V, and Paper- 2 for Classes VI-VIII. The TET is conducted both by the central and state governments of India. Most states conduct their own TET. The test is performed to meet the purposes of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.

The exam is organized on the Government of India's National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education and is a mandatory credential for incoming teachers for Classes I through VIII. Civilization with skilled teaching qualifications, including the B.T.C (D.El.Ed), B.Ed, and B.El.Ed, are eligible to take the test. Competitors must score over 60% to pass.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) maintains the TET database and counsels administration units on performing the test.
